We offer field trip grants of up to $200 to K-12 classrooms within DeKalb County. The grants are intended to fund transportation for agricultural field trips designed to support food and farm-related units of study. The number of grants awarded each year will depend on availability of funds.
To apply, please complete the grant application. Funding will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis to teachers submitting satisfactory applications. Teachers selected for funding will be notified as soon as possible. A completed final report will be due to the DeKalb County Farm Bureau within three weeks after culmination of the unit. Checks will be issued upon receipt of the final report.
- The field trip location must be a working farm or to an agribusiness (such as an implement dealer).
- Students must be learning about modern farm and agricultural practices. (Historical farm practices may be addressed in comparison to practices of the current day.)
The field trip must be a component of a unit of study that focuses on or significantly incorporates agriculture concepts.
